Michael Spano is currently the staff acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist at the Henry Ford Medical Center’s Center for Integrative Medicine in Novi.
Michael received his Masters of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Bastyr University in Kenmore, Washington with extended hospital residencies in Shanghai and Beijing, China as well as advanced acupuncture and herbal training in Vietnam and Peru. He completed a competitive 2-year residency at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health and continued on to practice and teach at Bastyr during which time he served as a clinical supervisor and instructor at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health in Seattle as well as the King County Public Health system.
Michael works to advance integrative care for pain management, autoimmune diseases, and received advance studies in integrative cancer care. He is a frequent lecturer on Traditional Chinese Medicine throughout the state of Michigan.
Michael uses acupuncture, herbs and teaches qigong exercises to help rebalance the body and to provide the space for optimum health.
